Love Poetry For Him
Skillfully, the few phrases
Surrounded my fragile heart
- Gently, removing it
From the sweetnest
It called home for many years.
I shut the door to that past
In which only hope can cling to
For some thought of tender love
As I placed those few words
Upon delicate pages of simple history.
Yes, indeed, I ache entirely
For his sweet voice to ring in my ear
Like a sparrow's melancholy tune,
But some wishes must still remain
Certain things of childhood fancy.
